Kanna Drinks is a guide to kanna (Sceletium tortuosum) and the growing category of drinks made with it. Most of what's online about kanna is either a brand selling it or a forum post. We wanted one place that pulls together the published research, real label data and plain safety information.

We don't accept payment, free product or advertising from any other brand mentioned on this site, and no other brand reviewed or approved our coverage of them.
Obviously we think Silly is the best kanna drink, or we'd make something else. We've tried to make that bias easy to check: we explain exactly how we rank, list Silly's downsides alongside everyone else's, and source every fact about other brands to their own published materials.
How we rank kanna drinks
Our ranking prioritizes, in order: (1) a kanna-forward formula, (2) a clearly labeled kanna amount, (3) a simple, transparent ingredient list, (4) sugar and calories, and (5) price per can. The ranking page explains each one.
We include every packaged kanna drink sold in the US that we can find with a named brand and a working place to buy it. We do not lab-test products. Kanna amounts, ingredients, calories and prices come from each brand's product page, nutrition panel or press materials, and every product entry shows the date we last checked.
How we handle research
- We cite peer-reviewed studies (mostly via PubMed) for every scientific claim, and link them.
- We report what studies actually measured, in whom, and at what dose, including small sample sizes and industry funding.
- We don't make health claims. Kanna isn't approved by the FDA to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition, and nothing here is medical advice.
